CLEAN operations are basically of three aspects:

There are numerous means to promote and conserve the environment and enhance sustainable community development. Whatever you decide to do directly or indirectly can make a difference.

CLEAN-Africa is an international non-profit organization whose overall aim is to actively facilitate and promote the adoption of policies, methods and tools to accelerate the movement towards a global sustainable built environment. CLEAN-Africa is being operated to serve African Countries, without political, religious, ethnic, social and gender discrimination, and in a spirit of ecumenical collaboration, solidarity and friendship.

  1. Built Environment -Afro-Green Buildings and Communities
    • Map current activities and establish a forum for information exchange on Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) initiatives, so that gaps and overlaps may be reduced and common standards established,
    • CLEAN-Africa would lead the Afro-Green Building Initiative (AGBI) process, a major international collaborative project to develop the theory and practice of environmental performance assessment systems for Afro-Green buildings,
    • Form strategic alliance with International Initiative for Sustainable Built environment (iiSBE) as a co-Sponsor of it activities world-wide to gain access to the Sustainable Building Information System (SBIS), Specific action includes the establishment of a website and R&D database accessible to researchers, policymakers and professionals around the world,
    • Increase awareness of existing SBE initiatives and issues amongst the Authentic African and International building professionals as well as the construction community;
    • Take action on fields not covered by existing organizations and networks (Life Cycle Analysis, Suitability Analysis for Development Projects.
  2. Environmental education and strategies
    • Set up a system that will help reduce the plastic menace (e.g. pure water sachets) on our streets and in our gutters
    • Advocate for people, organizations as well as industries to be responsible for the waste they produce
    • Challenge, educate, sensitize, as well as motivate the youth and our communities to be responsible for the protection of the environment through establishment of environmental clubs and educational campaigns
  1. Sustainable Poverty Alleviation Though Poverty Alleviation and Eradication would involve all Sectors, CLEAN-Africa will be working in the areas:
    • Financial sector: Empower small and medium sized Enterprises overcome financial exploitation
    • Educational sector: Support orphans and the disadvantaged to afford school education
    • Health: Safe Water, Hygiene and Sanitation
