"Poverty eraduction" projects in Africa:

Support, advise and mentor, Small, Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) and farmers regarding Microfinance

Aim and Goal of the Project:

Enlightenment of Small and Medium-sized farmers and businesses about dealing with loans and Microfinance assistance, wisely to avoid exploitation and bankruptcy.

Project Idea / Content

Access to Microfinance services is an essential key to sustainable poverty Alleviation. It supports the SME's in creating income and employment and a sustainable economic and social development for a broad shift of people.

Unfortunately, micro-credits are also given by profit-oriented institutions.

Many SMEs, who receive loans for the first time, are initially overwhelmed and without sound concepts it is not guaranteed that the loans will be used effectively and paid on time.

Microfinance institutions require collateral, such as Land, houses, businesses, etc which can be auctioned in case of insolvency.

As a result:

Often the borrowers become poorer than before they recieved the loans.
So far it has become clear as to how important and necessary advisory services for microfinance borrowers are.

What makes this Project so important?

The core of CLEAN-Africa work lies in Prevention through: Supporting the small and medium Enterprises and Farmers in developing good Concepts, Project Management / Monitoring and establishing a debtors-clinic for the microfinance borrowers in Makulubita Sub-County.

Also important is the access to information. Many residents of Makulubita sub-county are not making use of the funds made available by the government in regard to poverty alleviation programs - Bonna bagaggawale.
